Mac OS X 10.5.5

Well, here’s my first new official post of my new topic, which is technology. If you’ve flipped through my blog, you’ll see that I have a Mac, so obviously, I will talk about it.

A major thing that I’m going to talk about is the recent update to Leopard, which is 10.5.5. For those of you who don’t know about the update, update right away, or you can just wait until software update decides to update.

This new update to Leopard is a major fix. In my opinion, it blows away all of the previous packages. In fact, the previous updates didn’t really help up too much. They mostly fixed some stability issues with Mail and others, but in my opinion, 10.5.5 is MAJOR.

It’s old news for MacBook Pro and MacBook users about heat. Whether you know it or not, the MacBooks and Macbook Pros heat up a LOT. And the problem seems to be coming from flash; whenever watching Youtube, Veoh, or other flash websites, your laptop will heat up a LOT and then you worry that it might be damaged and you stop watching whatever you’re watching.

Well, 10.5.5 fixes this. Now, your Mac no longer heats up as badly as before. I can now finally watch Flash videos without worrying about the heat on my computer. this is very fortunate because the heat had been annoying me for quite some time.

Some other fixes in 10.5.5 aren’t as noticeable. Boot time is faster than before, and Airport signal seems to have increased; however, there are sometimes when the Airport signal just suddenly drops for no apparent reason at all. This is very weird, and has started happening ever since I downloaded 10.5.5, although it happened before, but less frequently.

Well there you go. That’s what I think of 10.5.5. Mostly, the heat fix was a godsend. I can finally use my laptop on my lap without it frying my balls off.
